DDR2 ArctiCore™ Modules
ArctiCore DDR2 memory modules combine an integrated thermal management solution with a doubling of the DRAM mounting areas on the module, resulting in high-capacity memory modules with superior thermal performance. ArctiCore DDR2 DIMMs are targeted at current and next-generation server and workstation applications.
Newfoundland High-Density RDIMM
The Newfoundland RDIMM is the most cost-effective design to build a 4GB RDIMM since it can accommodate 72 commodity 512Mb DRAM devices. The flexible circuit is populated using standard SMT processes.
- 72 DRAM devices, x4 organization resulting in 4 ranks
- Up to DDR2-667 speed
- JEDEC-compliant, raw card standardization in progress
The Newfoundland VLP is a similar configuration that utilizes 36 small dual-die DRAM packages to deliver an equivalent DIMM in a low-profile form factor.
