Electrical Engineer (FPGA Design)
At Entorian, we are currently expanding our engineering team for embedded products. We are looking to fill a position for an experienced electrical engineer with hands-on FPGA design expertise. This position's main responsibility is to oversee the implementation of advanced controller devices typically involving the selection and integration of multiple IP blocks in the FPGA. Other responsibilities include:
- Working with subcontractors to design and implement FPGA-based controllers
- Serving as technical interface between Entorian and subcontractors
- Defining and executing acceptance tests on periodic deliveries of VHDL or Verilog-based designs
- Debugging - in cooperation with firmware engineers - problems with FPGA-based controllers
- Performing maintenance and moderate-scope upgrades to VHDL or Verilog-based designs
- Evaluating IP blocks for inclusion in FPGA-based designs
- Working with other hardware engineers to produce board level and system designs
Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required. The successful candidate will also have the following required experience:
- Hands-on experience in Xilinx FPGA design tools, VHDL and Verilog
- System-on-chip design and implementation experience, including microprocessors, DRAM interfaces and DMA peripherals
Preferred experience includes:
- Experience implementing Storage interfaces (PATA/SATA, SCSI/SAS, Fibre Channel)
- Experience implementing NAND Flash interfaces
